I purchased this unit to treat my lower back (three surgeries...uhhg). This unit performs similarly to the desktop unit that my physical therapist has. Amplitude controls are easily accessible on top. Other controls are under a sliding cover. Typically, once you get these set right, you won't access them much, if ever. The unit shuts off automatically at the end of the time interval. My only complaint is that the power output of this unit is somewhat limited, which may limit it's use for some conditions. However, it is not an issue for me, as about 3/4 power is my comfort limit. Instructions are not very good, but the operation is simple enough for this to not matter. IF is not going to work for everyone, but it does enough for me to help reduce my reliance on medications.

In all, this is a very cost-effective unit. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a portable IF. It comes with a convenient carry case and includes a wall-wart power supply. I picked up a universal 12V power supply for the car.

Product Description:
Medical Products Online, Inc. Digital Interferential & Russian Stimulator Systems with its advanced portable unit technology enables you to bring this much-appreciated modality home with the patient, allowing more frequent and less costly treatments. Interferential therapy, during the past ten years, has increased in popularity to the point that it is now perhaps the most widely used form of electrotherapy in the United States. Conventional TENS and Muscle stimulators deliver most of the stimulation directly under the electrodes. Thus, with Interferential Stimulators, current perfuses to greater depths and over a larger volume of tissue than other forms of electrical therapy. The Interferential current crosses the skin with greater ease and with less stimulation of cutaneous nociceptors allowing greater patient comfort during electrical stimulation. In addition, because medium-frequency (Interferential) current is tolerated better by the skin, the dosage can be increased, thus improving the ability of the Interferential current to permeate tissues and allowing easier access to deep structures.
